POSTDOC in INTEGRATIVE BIOINFORMATICS, Dresden, Germany

BACKGROUND:
The Structural Bioinformatics group of the BIOTEC TUD in Dresden has a postdoctoral research associate position available in the area of Integrative Bioinformatics in protein structure and function relationships.

REQUIREMENTS:
We are seeking a highly motivated research scientist with computational background and interest in biology applications. Strong expertise in data management (integration & processing), good scripting and programming skills and experience with relational databases (i.e. MySQL, IBM DB2) are required. Familiarity with XML will be a strong plus. Background in biology will be a definitive advantage. Good English command is required; German not needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will work on the development and application of methods and tools for characterization of proteins, their functions and their networks in an interdisciplinary and highly collaborative environment focused on high throughput functional genomics data analysis. The position is fully dedicated to scientific work and does not include teaching duties. The group and institute are international, excellently equipped and provide outstanding working conditions.

SALARY:
In accordance with the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
