Aims the project:

To develop new finite element analysis techniques capable of capturing the relevant failure modes of 3D woven composites and thereby predicting failure at both the material and structural sub-component level.

The project will require close working with partners conducting experimental testing within the programme as well as industrial end users looking at the application of newly developed models to representative components. It is funded for 18 months in the first instance with a strong possibility of being extended.
